Colloidal synthesis and characterizations of wittichenite copper bismuth sulphide nanocrystals.
Wittichenite (Cu(3)BiS(3)) nanocrystals have been synthesized utilizing a hot-injection method. They have been characterized in detail. Cu(3)BiS(3) nanocrystals possessed a band gap of 1.56 eV, and the corresponding nanocrystal-film shows a clear photoresponse in I-V measurements. Our work illustrates that Cu(3)BiS(3) nanocrystals have potential in the application of solar cells.
متن کاملDissolution of NaCl nanocrystals: an ab initio molecular dynamics study.
The dissolution of NaCl has been systematically investigated by employing ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) on different NaCl nanocrystals as well as on a surface system immersed in water. We discovered a complex dissolution process simultaneously involving multiple ions initiated at the corner sites of the crystal. Our simulations indicated a difference in the dissolution rates of sodium and...
متن کاملSurface modification of ZnO nanocrystals
Nano-crystalline ZnO particles were synthesized using alcoholic solutions of zinc acetate dihydrate through a colloidal process. Five types of capping agents: 3-aminopropyl trimethoxysilane (Am), tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS), mercaptosuccinic acid (Ms), 3-mercaptopropyl trimethoxysilane (Mp) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (Pv) were added at the first ZnO precipitation time (first PPT) to limit the...
متن کاملOne-step facile surface engineering of hydrophobic nanocrystals with designer molecular recognition.
High quality nanocrystals have demonstrated substantial potential for biomedical applications. However, being generally hydrophobic, their use has been greatly limited by complicated and inefficient surface engineering that often fails to yield biocompatible nanocrystals with minimal aggregation in biological fluids and active targeting toward specific biomolecules. Using chimeric DNA molecules...
